Course Content

The SVQ in Boat Building and Repair has four mandatory units including: complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements; slinging; lifting and moving materials; and machinery and components in a marine environment.

In addition to the mandatory units, candidates select one of two specialist pathways:

Wooden Boat Building and Repair.

Composite Boat Building and Repair and Metal Boat Building and Repair.

Entry Requirements

This SVQ is suitable for individuals who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification.
